What you need to know…
Have you always wanted to try rock climbing but don't know where to start? This course is perfect for you. Over two practical days, you'll learn to climb sport climbing routes independently and safely.
Objectives:
- Climb single-pitch sport routes independently, both lead and second.
- Properly secure a first and a second.
- Know the basic climbing equipment and its correct use.
- Make the essential knots and secure them securely.
- Practice basic progression and gestures on the rock.
- Learn how to set up and take down equipped meetings.
- Control the landing, falls and abandonment maneuvers.
- Apply safety and communication protocols in the rope team.
Course contents
- Personal and collective climbing material.
- Essential knots and safety checks.
- Securing the first and second rope members.
- Descent and abandonment maneuver in the middle of the track.
- Progression as first rope.
- Gestural techniques and emotional control during falls.
Itinerary
- Day 1: Practical workshop at the base of the route. Introduction to equipment, knots, belaying, and first steps in climbing.
- Day 2: Lead climbing on equipped routes, practicing belays, and safely descending.
